Mr. Darcy Goes Overboard, originally published as Prawn and Prejudice in 2009, is a seaside retelling of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. This contemporary novel takes place in the British seaside town of Salcombe, and instead of carriages, balls this tale is about boats, swimming, and lifeguards. Every summer, it is a tradition for the Bennet family holiday in Salcombe where there are many aquatic and tourist attractions. But this holiday season there is nothing but handsome men about . Mrs. Bennet sets are sites on the eligible men including Mr. Darcy ,Mr Bingley, etc thinking to make matches for her daughters. This story takes place in modern times but still has that air of the Victorian era about it at the same time. The characters came together for barbeques, sand castle events,Town events, along with swimming events. Some of the stuff that went on in those events gave me some chuckles so I am giving this review 3 stars. If being honest though I did have a bit of a hard time relating to the modern twist on things no sure why but I think that it was the plot need to be more humorous found it rather dry. The texting and slang or short hand texting being used by Darcy sister was funny. Love to read anything with Darcy and Elizabeth in it. I would love to have seen more of a romance aspect between those two in this book.Just and okay read for me...
