My Thoughts...
This was an enjoyable book.There were likeable characters to associate with. There was not really a whole lot going on in this book pretty straight forward. The league is after a spy and they think that Lady Kate Seaton is some how involved.Its up to Captain Harry Lidge to uncover the Duchess involvement with a verse that is the way the spies are passing messages. But, Kate knows nothing and the Captain and her share a past together making things very uncomfortable for both parties. The man in charge tells Captain to kidnap the Lady and uncover her secrets. She know nothing other than someone is trying to kill or and she does know know why.On time of it all her brother wants to put her in an asylum because of her aggressive behavior.Harry needs to make a choice and trust Kate and vice verse-a if they are ever going to find out what is going on. During this time the two learn to forgive one another and perhaps let go of the past a little bit of a time. These two were endearing with there own ghost's .The two had become hardened over the years because of so much heart-ache for both of them there pain was evident and your heart felt sadness for both of them.You see the thawing of that threw the pages of this book. Perhaps giving them a chance to trust one another again and love again. There is quite a few twists and turns in order to solve the matter of both the verse and who is out to kill Kate.Secrets are revealed from the past. More secrets uncovered and more live were saved.A nice light read with intrigue laughs and a few tears.
